THE STORY BEHIND OUR REUNION by Lynne

Hello to all! Hope you're all having a great Monday morning. Time flies. It has been a week since we held our Masquerade Night in Las Vegas.
In the late months of last year, it has been decided that our batch should celebrate our 20th anniversary since our culture club days. And so it began. It was no easy task but it was well worth it. Las Vegas Reunion was decided, taking precedence over New York and Florida. It all started from a very simple idea of a reunion to the grandiosity it has eventually become. With this grandeur scope came some bumps including and not limited to a mild to total retroversion to HS life that almost made the path such an arduous climb. But thanks to some good friends, the journey became tolerable.
The spectacle night for our Las Vegas Reunion was decided to be held at Paris Hotel and Casino's Versailles Ballroom. The contract for the event was signed by both parties on June 09, 2008.

I must admit, Zamboanga edition reunion was decided at the last minute. I had to make sure that my plan to go home was truly a feasible one before I jumped the gun. I was so impassioned to include as many, from our batch, as possible in our celebration and I was not disappointed. With the enormous support and help of good friends, Zamboanga Reunion became a reality last June 27, 2008.

A little over a month after that horrid 3rd day of Aug, our dearest reunion secretary, Hector Jopson, touched down into LAX international airport. His arrival gave me a great sigh of relief. We then held a committee meeting, deciding on activities and whatnots for the upcoming reunion.

It was a good night. Following that night was the grueling task of putting things in perspective for our three-day affair. I was faced with the disappointment of having people back out at the last minute but I was still in high spirit for those who are so adamant to celebrate with us. I must say, because of our reunion, I learned the art of groveling since I was not abundantly supplied with punctuality in every conceivable aspect. But the worth of seeing our batchmates happy, during both our reunion celebrations, justified whatever downtime I experienced. WORTH = PRICELESS!!!
With this email, I, personally would like to thank everyone. Most especially, those who were really able to bear with me "come hell or high water." To our sponsors both for Zamboanga and Las Vegas Reunion Celebrations, THANK YOU. To all my friends in Zamboanga, I know I harassed you to death with my constant demands, I don't know how to thank you but THANK YOU. To my friends here, you know who you are, THANK YOU. Were it not for all of you, none of this would have been possible. Sorry if I ran your text messaging bill so high these past months. To my husband, who lost a lot of weight, for bearing with my constant "I'm busy, I wasn't able to cook" THANK YOU. To our Almighty, for showering me with grace and giving me the tenacity of mind and body to bear the adversities that our reunion brought, THANK YOU!!! ooops, didn't mean to make this sound like an academy award speech.
Anyhow, reunion pictures part 1 will be released anytime today so watch out for it....For now, let me leave you with these...

To my friends, for your vote of confidence despite my moments of weakness, thank you....To everyone for everything, thank you....
The story of our Las Vegas Reunion and compilation of both Reunions (Phils and US) will soon follow. Or at least until I can get my thoughts back on track... For now, let me leave you a photo to tickle your curiosity....

Alfred supports the cause. Lance Armstrong is a motivational icon. Livestrong bracelets were given away as a gift from Alfred during the Masquerade2008 reunion in support for his father who is fighting cancer. "wear the bracelet and let those living with cancer know that they are not alone in this battle" (excerpt from Alfred's reunion closing remarks)
